1st day of in-service

Today was our first day of in-service. We spent the day working in the classroom. Here are pictures of my classroom after working for the day.

Classroom

I have finally made it to Arizona! I went to my classroom for the first time today! Here is what my room looked like when I got there.

After one hour of being in the room! I recruited my dad and uncle to move all the furniture. :)

Still have a lot of work to do, but I'm very excited to get to work!

Write the Room

I found another Pinterest project! :) They are write the room sticks.  The children will pick a stick and write words around the room that start with that letter.

Materials: foam letters, large popsicle, hot glue gun, glue, and hair spray

I began by sorting all the letters out to see how many I had.  I had enough letters to make two complete alphabet sets and one number set (0-9). I haven't decided what to do with the numbers, yet. Any suggestions?!

I hot glued one letter on each stick

I decided to hair spray each letter just to make sure the glitter stayed on.  I recommend doing this outside, a lot of fumes and sticky!

The three completed sets! :) Once I start using them I plan on developing a sheet to go with these for the children to record their words on. Check back soon!

Change on Pinterest Project

Well, I have already decided to change my crayon wreath! :) I was at Wal-Mart and I found scrap booking stickers I liked better. Here is my "new" crayon wreath.
