I am very excited for my first year teaching! :) I am in the process of packing all my things to leave the wonderful state of WI, to move to AZ! I will be teaching kindergarten at a charter school. I will be working with an amazing group of people I graduated college with! We will have one amazing "KinderTeam!" I have been so busy packing all of my things that I wanted to take a little break and make something fun and excited for my classroom. I got this idea off of Pinterest.....like everything else I do. ;) Here are some step by step pictures of what I did.
Crayon Wreath
Materials
-12" embroidery ring (I have a 10" in the picture-Wal-Mart didn't have a 12")
-64 count box of crayons
-hot glue gun with glue sticks
-ribbon (not pictured)
-foam letters, or whatever you choose (not pictured)
-anything you would like to attach (not pictured)
Start with the rings evenly spaced apart. Then attach four crayons, try to have them evenly spaced, I had to redo a couple. :) I had the "C" on Crayola lined up with the outside ring for spacing. Make sure all of your crayons are facing up the same way. :) After I had the four on, I put four more in between those, just so I had smaller areas to try and keep lined up. If you make a mistake the crayons are pretty to pop off, you just have to remove the glue.
Half way done! :)
The completed circle of crayons.
I made a bow out of the ribbon and hot glued on to the top of the circle. Next, I used foam sticker letters from Wal-Mart. I lined them up where they looked good. Then I removed the back and hot glued them on.
The final product! :) I attached a ribbon on top (through the opening on the embroidery ring) to hang it up. Then I hot glued on a couple 2 dimensional scrap booking decorations. I can't wait to hang it up in my new classroom! It just has to make the trip from WI to AZ! :) I'll make sure to post a picture of it when it is hung up in my classroom!
